The Batman Dark Knight Batman costume is from the Grand Heritage Collection and includes a black bodysuit to be worn under the molded armor pieces, gauntlets, Batman utility belt, black cape* and boot covers. An over-the-head mask with extended neck piece that can be tucked into the bodysuit is also included to complete this authentic Batman costume. This Is Totally One Of Those Batman Costumes That You Dress Up For Halloween And Yes Dressing Up As The Caped Crusader Helps You Defeat The Bad Guys And Make Them Run Scared! This Costume Gave Me An Idea The Stuff It Has Including The Mask Utility Belt Gloves The Whole Costume Is Complete To Make You Look Great As Batman As You Try To Fight Criminals In Your Costume And It's Cool And It's Really Cool Too! Similar to other reviewers, I agree that the costume does not look as good as it costs unless it is modified to fit the wearer. I set aside the polyester body suit that comes with the costume and opted instead for an UnderArmour compression suit -- including a skull cap to make wearing the mask more comfortable. I added velcro to secure the closure on the chest-piece, and put elasticized velcro straps on the chaps to replace the flimsy laces provided. I opted for the separately-sold Dark Knight mask -- it fits perfectly right out of the box, needing only something to stiffen the ears. The gauntlets are unwearable as-is, unless you want to clean the shower with them. I added wadded up aluminum foil inside the armor spikes to stiffen them, and completely cut off the glove part. I purchased Darth Vader leather-like gloves, and used velcro to secure glove to gauntlet, so they can be put on and removed as a single unit. I also added the Dark Knight plastic belt to replace the flimsy one that comes with the costume. The boot covers are Frankenstein, not Batman, so I set them aside and used my existing pair of black Superhero Boots (also purchased from this site). It took an investment of time and several additional items to make it really work -- but I was complemented at every party I went to. Definitely *not* a last-minute effort!

It definitely helps to read all reviews on this product, as you will find the same pros and cons for the costume over and over again. This costume can look VERY good with some minor modifications and the right body type. Don't get discouraged based on pictures of people who haven't made the needed changes or don't have the body type for it in the first place. Pros: - The main pieces of the costume area heavy and solid - The level of detail on the pieces is as good, if not better than the pictures - The mask looks odd in the picture, but actually looks better from a different angle (and if you modify it to fit right) - The mask will NOT be too small Cons: - Cheap fasteners, too few of them - Parts are too big unless modified - Suit has a very strong smell and needs to be aired out before use I originally attempted to buy this suit from another site a week before Halloween, but the company was unable to ship it out overnight even though I had already paid for it. They ended up cancelling the order after days of me trying to contact them, which literally left me without a costume on the Thursday before Halloween weekend. The price was a bit more on this site, but I took a chance and bought it here and was not disappointed. The feedback and package tracking was very informative and accurate and the package showed up the very next day as I had hoped. I was originally worried that pieces may be missing since others had the issue, but I was pleased to see that everything was there and looked to be the correct size. The costume was a big hit and I have no regrets about purchasing it. If you're going to buy this costume, buy it from this site!

Similar to other reviews this costume was brilliant but required allot of work! Do not purchase this costume unless you are willing to invest some time and make modifications. Out of the box the costume will not fit (anyone) well. Below are a list of modification made to the costume to make it work for me: 1. Installed small zip in the back of the cowl. 2. Installed full lenght zip in to the upper body piece. 3. Attached elasticated material strap to chaps/leg pieces with an adjustible plastic clip (similar to those used in a sports bag strap). 4. Attached elasticated material straps to lower leg pieces and tied/attached using velcro. 5. Glued stiff cardboard to boot covers stiffen the covers and also attached an elasticated strap to attach to shoes. 6. Made a paper mache skull cap to stiffen the cowl (I covered this with fibreglass to stop the cap from disintegrating with heat and sweat etc). - The cowl is fantastic but needs an inset to give it shape as the laytex is too malleable. 7. Filled the ears and gauntlet spikes with aluminium foil. Each of the straps and zips were attached with a strong glue suitable for rubber/latex (e.g. red evo-stick) and a few stitches were run through each of the glued items to ensure they were secure. In short there was allot of work so if you like a bit of DIY tailoring its lots of fun. Again, I would not recommend this to anyone unless you invest the time. I had a fantastic night our and really enjoyed being the Dark Knight for the evening. Whilst the suit itself is good quality the fittings/straps etc are appalling. You might expect more where you are paying this kind of money, but with investment you will not be dissappointed. Like another customer buycostumes did not pack the chest piece in the original package but did resolve the issue very quickly and sent out the piece express. Very good customer service! Hopefully this is of use to a prosective Dark Knight!

Title: Great costume requires lots of work
I bought the costume and also the extra batman mask which is sold separately. I bought the extra mask due to another persons review. It turns out there was no need to buy the extra mask as the costume mask was superior and fit better. To help with perspective, I'm 5'-10" with a fit build (185lbs) and I bought the Regular size costume. The Regular Sized costume really would fit someone 6'-2" that weighs somewhere around 225 lbs. This costume requires EXTENSIVE modification to look really good. I bought a 25' roll of industrial strength velcro from Home Depot and used all of it to make this costume fit right. I did all the modifications that others discuss. Total time required, about 10 hours of modification. A few things I did that really helped. 1) slice the center of the back of the mask up to the ears, cut a dime sized circle, add velcro and then the face mask was able to be pulled snug on my head by overlapping one side over the other. 2) I put lots of holes in the mast and body suit in strategic locations to allow better airflow, I cut the eyes larger and the nostrils larger. I cut 8 2" diameter circles in the back of the body suit. 3) I just wore a black t' shirt and used black latex paint to paint my arms between the body suit and the gauntlets. I wore the costume for 4 hours out at a club with thousands of people. I danced for hours and was fine with the heat level. I was Batman that night! Very impressive costume. Check your delivery carefully to ensure all the components are included, I had several pieces missing but they were overnighted to me by BuyCostumes.com. Great customer service followup.

Title: sik costume needed sum customization
well when i received this product i was excited because its friggen batman dude he rules, anyway when i took it out of package first thing i tried on was the mask and it was huge like the other comments said but i wasn't going to spend more money and wait for it to ship to buy the other mask so what i did was i bought some thick foam sponges and cut them to fit in and around the mask to have the mask fit tighter on my face and i used Velcro to hold them in place and it worked i also used expanding foam and filled the bat ears with it so they wouldn't flop around. when i tried the chest on it fit pretty good but they only had a small Velcro strap holding the middle so i got more industrial Velcro and stuck it all along the back and the chest fit so much better and more firm. for the gloves very huge need giant hands to fit so i had a pair of work gloves i just wore underneath and it fit awesome. for the legs it covers the front of your thighs and has string that u tie around your waist and legs so instead of that brought the Velcro back in and got the Velcro to hold it in place instead of the strings stuck it right to the pants they send you. The boot covers well i had my old pair of work boots that i wore and they kept popping of and looked kinda stupid so i place Velcro around my work boot and on the boot covers and now it stays there like a real boot looks awesome. the cape you get is probably the sickest thing feels pretty durable and the bat wing hem is really cool it has rods at the bottom for weight and to keep its bat wing hem shape. other then the little bit of work i had to do this costume is pretty cool.

Title: awsome costume
At first when you put this on you will be a little disappointed but honestly i think the gloves, boots and mask are a huge because there meant to be altered. I went out in bought some plain black gloves and then cut off the hand part and cut the gloves down the middle. I put velcro on Them then did some trimming on the boots to get rid of the over hang at the bottom. Then i used double sided tape to secure the covers to my shoes. I added some more velcro to the back of the chest piece to make it tighter. I also cut the feet of the pants to make it more comfortable. The cape is awesome. I bought the other mask off here. The one that comes with the outfit is huge and cant be alterd without destroying it. unless you have a huge alien head buy the other one its better, smaller and can be modified. I also bought some black face paint to put around my eye lids so when the mask is on it looks more like the movie batman. Over all with a few hours work this costume is awesome when you put it on you just wanna go walk into wal-mart just to turn heads. I went on my front porch and somebody almost hit a curb around a turn cause he was staring at me lol. Def worth the money. Think about it you will have a costume you can wear year after year and it will never get old. Its one of those costumes that people expect you wear each and every Halloween.
